How to journal to be better?_Self Development

We all know the benefit of journal and we all want to start journal straight away. But, most didn't last long. Why?

We need to clear a misconception first : Journal or diary is not essay. Start small and You don't need to write like essay, its just a record. If you things you do, you have watch too much movie till your conception of journal is clouded.

Why if we treat journal like writing essay, it won't last long? Well, do you like writing essay when you are schooled? How are journal going to be a habit if you treat it like something you don't like and want to avoid?

The format i use is fairly easy:
xx/xx/xxxx (xxxxday) 
1. Lunch at GP Court for RM 4.00. I make David pay for me because he own me RM 10.
2. Receive PosLaju from xxx
3. Magazine Project from xxx, status : Still waiting reply from  client.
4. Agree with xxx for participating xxx's birthday on xx/xx/xxxx at x:xx pm at xxx's place.
5. Remember to buy present for xxx's birthday today after working at xxx place.
6.  David 'accidentally' drop a file on my head before we left. He apologize. Don't worry. I will 'pay' he back tomorrow.

Tips:
1. Just write anything you have in your mind.
2. Try to describe in just one sentence. Simplicity is the key.
3. Write when you can. Don't wait until certain moment because you probably forget until then.
4. Review again when you finish writing. See anything to add. 
5. Review yesterday journal to see if you need to follow up on something.
